That's very interesting koiguy as I was just telling addy that when I ate just broth and some juice for a few days while letting my innards rest from a slight bought of diverticulosis symptoms I noticed I wasn't craving food but when I went back on my regular diet of just eating willy nilly for instance a starchy potato dish white bread and some junk food thrown into the mix I couldn't stop feeling hungry. Need to get serious about the good foods vs bad foods.

J.W. is your pain localized? With all the hard work like tree cutting and such you could have injured a disc or two. I have two bad discs at the top and two at the bottom of my spine. Pain, pain, pain. Liquid Advil pills work best for me. I think it would be best for you to see a doctor and find out for sure.

I eat a ton of veggies, minimal breads (my rule with bread it has to have at least 3 gms fiber 6 plus gms protein or we don't eat it), no processed foods (premade meals foods), almost no bagged snacks. I get hungry but only when it is "time" to eat, lol, usually once every 3 hours or so, then a small snack (nuts, cheese, humis, apple etc) done eating for the next 3 or so hours.

Have the same box of sugar on the shelf now for a few years. The hummingbirds get a lot more bagged sugar than we use for cooking. But sure do love my chocolate! get the 70% plus coco stuff (good for the heart! good excuse to eat it) Bought a salt shaker where you grind your own salt, 4yrs ago, it is still almost completely full.

Honey has lost over 50 lbs since he married me.............says I starve him! if you call home cooked meals being starved!

What that study is saying makes sense. Going to pay attention if we do eat "bad" stuff, see if starving soon after eating it.

the problem is just that jw.. starches, refined sugars, and processed flours, especially white flour are metabolized as sugars in your system. white poatoes are notorious for causing blood sugar spikes. white rice as well. these are all "fast" carbs. meaning they are quickly converted to sugars. sweet potatoes, and brown rice are a far healthier choice. due to their "slow' conversion rate.
you want sweet... use STEVIA PRODUCTS... some folks use agave nectars, etc.. but some actually have a higher clycemic index than processed sugar. high fructose corn syrup also causes holes in the digestive tract known as leaky gut syndrome.

I converted honey to brown rice (didn't give him a choice!) and other healthy substitutes. I love sweet potatoes, he won't eat them. But we do get yellow, red, potatoes.

Lou my pain is here and there and much better now. Only hurts when I go for long 2 hour walks or do strenuous work. Pain is not bad just annoying at times. After I rest it goes away. Next time I go in for a check up tho I'm asking him about it.

I know what the good foods are and am trying to stick to them but sometimes it is hard when living w/ another person that constantly breaks the rules. I think I'm getting the hang of it tho by keeping some good stuff in the house to grab when he brings out the chocolate chip cookies or ice cream. He doesn't do it that much tho and did mention to me the other day that he might like to start eating better along with me. Amazing!!!

lol Jw it took a little for honey to join in my healthy eating habits. So glad your honey is slowly converting! We still eat "non healthy stuff" can't be totally deprived in life. Try to keep the majority of food healthy. I used to buy white bread for him, toss most of it out since I would not touch it. He is now converted to high fiber high protein bread (we don't worry about gluten does not bother either of us)

He is loving the weight loss that is happening. So has jumped on the healthy food band wagon, besides if he wants "non healthy" he has to cook!, he does love his cookies though!

EVEN IF YOU HAVE NO INTOLERANCE TO GLUTENS.. they are not good for you. they leave a sticky film in blood vessels. i need not explain the hazards that can cause, or do i ?... flours, glutens, HFCS, hydrogenated oils, monosodium glutemate, also labeled yeast extract are all bad for you and are found in many commercial breads. try sprouted grain breads, Manna, Ezekial, Genesis. Food For Life brand is what i eat.
