Thank you for your kind replies. And for those of you who lost loved ones, I share your grief. David knew there was something wrong, but his doctors told him he was "too young" to have colon cancer! By the time he had a colonoscopy, he was a Stage 4, it was already in his lungs and lymph nodes. From there, it attacked his brain and bones. A VERY agressive chemo regimen probably prolonged his life, but in the end that same chemo destroyed his kidneys, and basically poisoned him.
PLEASE, people, if you suspect you may have some symptoms, DEMAND that they be investigated!

That is very sad knowing perhaps he could have been helped sooner. Very good advice on knowing your own body and taking charge of what you feel needs to be done to help you.
Thank you John for putting this out there even when you must be hurting so very much

Very important information to share @HARO - listen to your own body. It's a shame how often we hear stories like your son's. Doctors are not gods... they call it "practicing medicine" for a reason.

I followed your son's instagram account - I was happy to be able to "see" you in some of his posts!

I don't look like that any more, unless he posted one AFTER our moose hunt. Haven't shaved since October 23!
