wow...this thread is a bit biased....im gonna start a KOI ONLY thread....................lol!
THAT SAID...anything you feed a golfish is fine for koi as well, and vise versa!
Koiguy most of the threads are only about koi. For example Fish and Koi, Koi Spawning etc. There is really nothing just for the poor little goldfish. This thread was a great idea. Maybe Becky can start a heading just for goldfish....Becky???? and maybe label it "not just goldfish" lol... so the koi people have nothing to whine about! Koiguy you are surrounded by goldfish enthusiasts! We are the common man and believe in the common fish. We do not pick our pets for size or cost or prestige and someday will out number you. Get ready for revolution!

Even kio adv.s here on gold fish only DuH ! I have a problem understanding all the hype of the pros seem to create the ultimate fish ,pec's colors shusi snooki baki saki Lord ,sounds like people smushing vintage grapes with thier feet picking the vintage wines for next year and there bougue aroma stamina ,just more then this counrty boy can understand ,some bodies got to be making a lot of money off this ,but I doubt it is many on the forum ,who arn't also in business .Next thing I'll here is there betting on them ! My poor golf fish don't have to worry about being replaced by one with finer features ,bigger fins ,finner pec's .

laughing! my mutt goldfish are safe from being replaced by a better specimen! To me they are all beautiful. I saw a pure gold yellow one with beautiful fins, yesterday, while grooming the lilies, they where biting my legs and feet, well nibbling not biting lol. One of my black fish has become a beautiful black, red, white, bluish shubunkin, which is still very dark in color.

Darn lilies might need to be divided again, they are out growing their pots, spreading across the bottom of the pond. Grown like weeds this year, tons of blooms and smell soooooo good!

I would like to get lilies for my pond next spring. I have water lettuce floating around but not as pretty as lilies. The nursery I use was all out of lilies and wouldn't get anymore till next spring.

The trouble with plants is they GROW AND GROW AND GROW and not always the way you plan ,I had water hyacints and lillies in the spring and they tried to take over every bit of the two ponds and I couldn't keep it clean or find the fish ,constant management to keep the under control ,I finally removed them all ,and put in a sweep ,But YOU have to decide what You want in you pond and and what makes you HAPPY and cultivate to YOUR likings and create the look you want ,but keeping plants under control is a job ,and they are dirty ,If they would stay blooming and not grow they would be perfect .Thats one of the joys of this ,its a constant learning adventure .

I didn't know goldfish had teeth? But they do..............they are called pharyngeal teeth. They have some teeth in their jaws too but most are way in the back of the throat. So I guess if you stick your finger way in their mouth they could bite you w/ those little teethies :D

Well, isn't that something -- Don't know when it happened, but we have at least 2 baby somethings in the pond! Probably comets as the tails appear to be singles. They are about 1/2" long and dark gray-olive.
