You wont be happy with that sieve,it's no more than a big pump priming pot.

With my limited space and for my needs with a more natural watergarden I think it would work fine. What I like about this one is that it will save my small goldfish before the pump and the xlarge leaf catchers I saw weren't much cheaper than this sieve. If the trees go I might DIY a settlment tank.

So I might be looking at a bigger settlement tank. But man I hate to cut down those trees! Red buds are so pretty in the spring and they provide a lot of privacy for my backyard. Are red buds really that damaging? I'm only about a foot down and haven't run into hardly any roots yet. The ones I have seen are small and the trees are full grown.

They are beautiful trees, can you just net the pond when they are doing the dump?

Stroppy I think she does not have enough room to move it away from the trees.

Yes most of my backyard is actually a side yard. The only other space is at the end of the side yard and next to a Burr oak and talk about messy and invasive roots! Plus it would be so far from the family area we couldn't enjoy the pond.
