Those are big! I have a couple of rocks too that I couldn't lift if my life depended on it! The one rock in the front to the left a little by my pond that you can sit or stand on is unbelievably heavy I couldn't even roll it. Dave had to move that one around for me! Ok forgive me for stupid questions, but what is a hand truck?

Those carts with two wheels and a long handle. Some have 4 wheels, some have just the two bottom ones.

I can't do without mine, have around 6, late hubby bought a bunch. Great for moving heavy things. I used them to haul the boulders up the hill, tied them on, and drug, yanked, hauled until they were up the slope

When I think of hills and moving rocks, pea gravel, sand, landscape stones, etc. I'm sure glad my yard is pretty level!
I have a "Total Trolley". LOL It is the one and only thing I have ever bought after seeing a TV infomercial! My daughter and I were getting ready for State Fair, we took dairy goats, which means hauling grain, hay, straw bales, milking machine, air compressor (for milking machine), and many more items for showing those girls That Total Trolley was awesome! It changes from a flatbed dolly, to a hand truck, to a short step ladder. It's really cool, and has 4 wheels, although not large wheels so doesn't move well on soft ground or big rocks, but it has been used several times with my large stones. I do not have any stones so large that I cannot move them myself, though, thus my smaller than most stones in my pond and waterfall areas!

I tried to move a stone/boulder I moved and placed when I built this sucker, could not even get it lifted. It must be around 100 lbs if not more. Maybe I was eating my wheaties that summer. One reason I don't tweak my stream, boulders, waterfalls. All built with boulders. The small hand size stones get moved off and on, but that is all.

Agree, Addy. I don't want to stop working in my yard, as I think I would become a wet noodle in the strength category. I'm taking my inspiration from you other ladies (Addy, JW, Sissy, and others) to keep on working hard! Always something to do outside, and that helps keep us in shape.

My dolly has moved a lot of my larger rocks that I couldn't get into the wheel barrow. Has come in real handy. I got mine at Harbor freight, it has the big nobby tires so it does not sink into the ground.

We don't have a dolly or a wheelbarrow. All the rocks have been sitting right next to the area we are working on, on my patio. It will be so nice to finally get it all out of here once we are finished! Both would be nice to have, but take up a lot of space. We have a 3-car garage, but it wasnt designed well and we can only get 1 car in the 2 car side and the 3rd bay is usually where my hubby does all his wood working. The garage is packed full. No idea where we'd put either of those if we got them. Althoughtthat Total Trolley thing does sound pretty awesome. Our subdivision doesn't allow sheds. Sooo stupid. I've definitely been getting a workout moving the rocks though!

Oh and Addy I'm with you. some of those rocks were so big and heavy I don't ever want to have to redo my waterfall!

I can't really see why they have housing developements that have restrictions ,never undestood paying them to tell me what I can and cannot do and what I can and cannot have in my yard .I pay the bills here not someone at one of those HOA's .I think they take things to far ,I sometimes think it is because they don't want someone to have a better looking yard and house than them . If I'm paying the mortgage and the taxes why would I want to pay them .I know here in VA near me they have 2 of those developements and people move to them because they are close to town and then complain .Give me the open fields and cows are the only ones who complain .And lately they seem to be doing a lot of that .moo here moo there moo moo everywhere

My favorite dolly has the never flat tires, oversize, it wheels great around the yard.

Well here in FW all of the houses are in subdivisions, unless you are living downtown, or 20-30 away from town. Some are a lot more restrictive then others and some have really expensive dues some cheaper. Our dues are $175/year which is really on the cheap side, we also have a neighborhood pool. Most of the dues money goes to maintaining the pool and ponds and keeping the streets clean in the winter. We had to get approval to build our fence and our playground. We have a wood fence with spacing between each picket, it could only be 6' tall around our patio, and then the rest could only be 4' tall. I know they have that rule because we have several large ponds in the neighborhood and they don't want them hidden with privacy fences. As for the playground they can only be the wooden kind which was why it had to be approved. Not sure what they would say about my pond, I just did it anyway, didn't ask. But I kept it just a few inches shy of code for swimming pools, etc. We have a rule here that deep water has to be surrounded by 6 foot fence. We can't have sheds and we are not suppose to have our trash cans visible. But we always break that rule, because we don't want our garage stinking. Also can't park in the street for more then a few hours, no working on your cars in the driveways, no parked boats or campers....I guess the rules are all to keep the neighborhhod looking nice, but they don't do their part for that so I'm not sure why we should. Our subdivision is about 12 years old and there are stil 2-4 lots that don't have homes yet. They won't properly pave the roads until all lots are finished construction. Also we have no sidewalk plantings (trees) so it looks very bare when you are driving through. We also have no sidewalks that go around the ponds which pretty much makes them useless, since you'd have to go through people's yards to get to them. I hear there is great bass fishin in there though. One of the ponds is behind and off to the left of our yard. It is pretty, but would be a lot nicer if you could walk down there.

We live in a rural cluster of 5 homes on slightly over an acre for each one w/ a common area of trees and open grass surrounding the whole thing. We are supposed to obey some kind of covenants but nobody does. We have no dues. We can't mess w/ the trees in the common area but we do that too. Nobody bugs us about it cuz we are the ones in charge and county has too much to do instead of monitoring our common area. Even so next time we buy we are buying a place we can do whatever we want............well legally of course and it will have more acreage also w/ lots of nice trees. All this providing the housing market ever goes up so we can sell this place!
