Garlic in pond to threat parasites

I use garlic in the spring to help them feed better

This is referring to an immersion bath which is the subject of this thread.

Garlic's effective use as an ingested prebiotic has been established when used at levels not exceeding 3% of total diet.

I am not sure I would ever want a bath in garlic so what is the sense of it .Only ever heard of feeding it by adding it to the food .
