I don't know that I would use the biodegradeable kind either, as it will just break down faster in the water.
The filters are NaruralAire. They are blue with no frame, cut to fit. Sold at Lowes- $6.Can any of you supply the name of the furnace filters your using? I've read not to use the fiberglass kind, only the biodegrable kind, but it was hard to find. I didn't see any that said either.
