My frogs all disappeared and to my horror I found out where I think they might have gone.
I went to let my lab out this morning, and it's a darn good thing I always go out on the porch then let her out...her back fur stood up and I scanned the back yard and there are a coyote in the pond fence! I think someone has been having a feast of frog legs.

In arizona I lived in a neighborhood, on a acre lot, surrounded by block walls. We had a very dry year, the coyotes started coming into our yard to lay in the stream. They would walk the block walls between the houses.

Very sadly, while at I was at work, my previous husband let my lil yorkie out during middle of the day, and she was taken by one. We found out that they were living in a neighbors yard, the neighbors would leave for the summer, the coyotes moved in. They had a water source, food source, cats started disappearing also.

I live on the side of a hill, with a very small stream at the bottom, 250m away at least. But toads and frogs appeared as soon as I put water in the pond. Man, are they ever loud! We call them the screaming frogs of Wisteria Way (my street).

Does anyone know what kind of frog this is. The pavers in the pic are 4x4 and 4x6 so he is about 6" inches long. He is very shy and is usually within a few feet of the pond except for when it rains. His name is Jabba the hut. I have two of them this size in my pond the one is very dark and the other one has a little more green and less deep brown.
