Flow rate through bog

Gauge flow by making sure water is not flowing up past surface of stone.

My pump is rated at 6800 gph, almost all the flow goes into my large bog, 25 or so by 5 or so feet. (of course you need to subtract pipe head pressures etc, so it is best guess estimate as to flow) It keeps the pond water tests in perfect shape and the algae / green water gone.

I have about the same size bog 28’x4.5’ moderately planted and pump about 2900 gph Pond is about 6000 gal 3.5’ deep and has about 40% plant coverage (expect 60% once plants are fully grown) water quality is very good fight green algae at times Pond is in full Sun and water temp sometimes is higher than I like 85’F
