SAYING 50% crude protein doesn't mean a thing. Leaving off the "crude" part would probably open a company to problems. Using the term explains honestly to people what they've added. The sellers are just relying on consumers not knowing or caring what "crude" means and just reading "bah, bah, protein, bah bah". Must work pretty good.
