Touching on the idea of the wood from the bridge that another poster mentioned...some of the pressure treated wood used to be impregnated with arsenic. What type of wood is it made of? Is there a preservative or a stain on it? Hope everything is OK. I would be devestated.

The watermelon rind you can just throw in in big pieces or a whole circle and let it float and they will pick off the good middle stuff from it and when they've gotten all the good stuff just fish it out before it sinks or you'll have to hunt for it on the bottom. Don't know about grapes etc. as I've never given my goldfish any. I would think if it's too big they couldn't eat it but don't know for sure. Koi have bigger mouths than my goldies. I'd cut up the bigger stuff like grapes etc. for goldies.
