Emergency help needed please.

Thank you, addy1, for the helpful information. Some added info on what I have: I have a Laguna Pressure-Flo 2100 filter and a Laguna Max-Flo pump, which has good water flow. In addition to scooping it out of the bottom, is there any kind of algae remover that I can put in the pond to help keep it from growing as well as help clear up the water?

Before I got it under control, i.e. the string algae, I used hydrogen peroxide, 1 liter per 1000 gallons, just poured it into the stream. Wiped the algae right out. I cleaned out as much as possible the hit it, then pulled the dead junk from the bottom.

Will it harm the fish and turtles? Also, I have two dogs who like to drink from it frequently.

No my fish did just fine, as well as the frogs, bugs etc. My pups were not bothered by it either.
