Yeah I didnt think it was time to start dealing with that yet, she only 9, the 7 year old boxer is still a huge puppy, full of energy and runs like the wind. (funny considering he was the one who was born with a fractured leg and was supposed to get arthritus and end up having an amputation by now) She took a quick turn, last year we all went for walks as a family couple of miles at a time, this year, she cant walk a block, takes 5 minutes to get in the house.

Anywayz... sorry to hi-jack your thread. You tell those doctors we need an all clear because we want to see some picture of progress here ;)

Loosing one of our 4 legged kids is just the hardest thing. Our two are 11 and 10 so yeah, it's hard to watch them turn into seniors. Hug 'em everyday and make each day count.

Friday morning (Dr. appt) isn't going to get here fast enough. I've spent the last two days putzing around my pond. Moving plants around and dressing up the sides a bit. Fretting over the work that needs to be done in the veggie patch and the pond-away-from-pond. Hmm, maybe I'll go start a thread on it!

Welcome! Yeah, sounds like you'll be lovin' it around here :). I'm the oddball -- my pond was designed primarily for my box turtles (non-aquatics), but I'm hooked on the ponding life, now. Curious, but once you get it completed, are those 2 ponds going to connect via the underground pipe? That sounds like a neat idea! And again, welcome!

Yep. I quickly got the bug bad and wanted a bigger pond. No space to expand on that side of the sidewalk, and since we don't plan on koi I figured an undersidewalk connector should do the trick. Provided I can keep it water tight :grumble:

We have a guy down here in Central Florida who rescues the native (water) turtles from the middle of roads and takes them home to his ponds. With our drought, a lot of the local water holes have dried up and turtles are on the move.

Awwww, that's sad 99 when our pets have to leave us behind. My good old friend, a 12yr old lab/retriever had cancer and they let him go on the operating table as by the time he healed from the operation he would have been dead they said. That's been around 15yrs ago now and I still miss him so much. Can't bear to get another one to take his place.
GG, I hope you heal up real nicely and get to get going on your cool sounding add on to your pond. We will be routing you on.
I remember being in Florida on vacation w/ my hubby and making him stop every time I saw a poor turtle in the road that couldn't get up over the curb. Had to lift them up and get them headed in the right direction away from the roads.
