Fishin now that is a good idea and I have several of those plastic strainers. I'm sure I can sacrifice one to put some batting in. Another day another pond job and it goes on and on but I enjoy it.......always something new to discover

Here is an idea I thought of for the foam. This wont get rid of it but it will keep it in one area. I dont have a bad problem but I do have foam, especially in the mornings. I have my water hyacinths contain in one area of my pond via a black plastic pvc pipe. I have one end secured to the wall in one area and the other end to another part of the wall. What I did was just moved the loop containing the hyacinths so each end is secured to either side of the water fall. The water from the fall forces the foam up against the hyacinths and it seems to cause the foam to dissipate and at the same time it pushes the plants back away from the falls so you can see them.
Just an idea
