DIY skimmers?

Ive been thinking about this and if you want to get even simpler design, why not just get a swimming noodle, (the round ones that you use in the pool) make it into a circle of desired circumference, put a bucket in the middle attached by 4 lines so it doesnt float away, have a basket inside the bucket to catch the leaves and such, and a small 600-700 pump in the buckiet pumping out the water? simular to the one listed on e-bay here.

Well i did some research and found something even simpler! look at this, crappy i know but some production value on this and it would be the simplest way to go about this... dont you guys think?!?

that would be perfect!

The good thing about that type of foam, unlike generic white foam, is that it doesn't fall apart and turn into little bits as easily!
