Too bad your not closer I have so many rocks that I could build a house. Actually, my house built in 1830 is made of stone. Everywhere there nothing but rocks laying on the surface and just below the surface. The farmer next to me has a special machine that he uses every year to clear the fields of rocks that surface over the winter.

I've been researching the same thing as I want to build a waterfall near my drive. I watched several youtube videos where they made a general shape using chicken wire, covered it with fabric ( I would just use fiber screen for windows), then layer it with concrete. It can be easy to make it look real with some practice. I have tons of rock up my way, but they are all sedimentary flat rock/creek rock. Doesn't look the best when you are going for the round river rock look

Making fake rocks takes practice. I would start just making some small rocks and working on making them look real. You will find some tools that work great for you and finding the shape that look natural is the easiest part if you just take handfulls of concrete and slap it on in what is a random manner. Getting the colors right and the finished texture are the hardest to achieve and I am still not totally happy with that part. Picking up some rocks that are similar to what you want to make helps by comparing what you made with the real thing. Remember the concrete starts off very dark went wet and then dries out much lighter. If you do not add anything to make it water proof, the rocks absorb water and turn dark where ever they are wet. They also wick water from the pond and increase evaporation but so do real rocks.
