Whoops! @mgmine -- I thought I was answering you on my own thread! So sorry! And sorry to JamieB, whose thread I accidentally hijacked!
You wanted to know how big JamieB's pond will be. Not mine!
A half circular 14 ish feet across, tiered down from 6 inches to 3 maybe 3 1/2 ft. part of the 14 ft flat side will be bog, so I figure that’ll take about 2 ft wide off the volume. My dirt is loamy, I don’t hit clay till about the 3ft mark. But with trees, roots, etc, and my limited time I can put into it, plus bad wrists, a mini excavator is my quick easy method of dirt removal.
This is a good year to get things prepared. I’ll get my sons to help move the old pool, and I’m thinking if I take my time, I can do the trick of mixing cement powder into the soil where my bog stands will go.
dont forget the stands leg cement should be cone shaped towards the top to prevent decaying wood or rust
from rainfall /water running down just something i know ,
