Thankyou. No I don't check anything really My husband used to deal with it but he died in 2009 so I have to try to manage it myself and I clearly do it pretty badly! Any suggestions are greatly appreciated

Well, as you’ve discovered, we are all about helping folks here. If you are interested, we can teach you about water quality, water testing, and why several of us were upset when we heard the words, “clean the pond.” Just let us know. Don’t want to overwhelm you.

Thank you so much you are all very kind. The first thing I need to know really is what I need to buy apart from pump and filter to keep the pond clean and healthy. Is it worth investing in a piece of equipment that could help? I guess replacing the net is the priority at the moment

We love to help others. If you have the room you might want to build a bog filter. A lot of converted to just filtering with a bog type filter, pea gravel, water and plants. And have removed all the other filters. That is all I filter with.
