Currents in a pond

You really don't need that much constant aeration in that size pond. If you can't turn it down why not put it on a timer and just run it for 30 minutes or so every morning. You'll get the extra aeration when you need it, increase the circulation for a while to help move settled debris around in the pond, and it probably wouldn't be enough to hurt the lilies, in fact it might simulate the little bit of agitation they often get in nature wit wind and wave action.

Ah if it is an air pump you can just add a valve and bleed off some of the air. Not sure what you are using for tubing or pipe.

both but rubber tubing at the end

I had the same issue with my fish disappearing right after I put them in. I don't know if it was hunger, or them getting comfortable but they did come back out. I wouldn't worry too much about the flow. I put small(2 -3 in) comets in with a bottom drain circulating the pond (2000 gal.)about twice an hour. They would go in and out of the drain no problem. Nice pond you got there!!
