Complete newbie just need some advice

Lol still got to lay down pavement for around pond and put down some fencing to keep my girls out put my solar lighting in waiting on plant delivery and fish delivery and filter aswell but will post pics as soon as pond is complete

If I were to do it over, I would have put my pond in the area of my yard where I could have a much bigger pond. Be sure to include a 12-18 inch ledge around the edge for boulders. I didn't do that and had to stand in my pond up to my waist and dig dirt back (Ugh).

I would also suggest taking photos as you go and post them so the experts on here can provide input. These guys and gals know what they are talking about.

Thanks for advice guys yeah i started of doing the ledges and with all the rain we had in my area the ground went to soft and just collasped in and i didnt realise how terrible the soil is with the stones it got to the stage where i was digging some out the size of my head and the amount of roots was just a joke and the place my pond is positioned is the only spot big enough for my pond its 5ft W x 5ftL x 3ft D i also used carpet and membrane sheeting for the underlay before i put liner in and i am waiting on my filter which is a all pond solution cup 129 submersible filter the plants im looking at are water soldiers and water hyacinths there are others but cant remember what there called and pics will be up as soon as i get chance aswell just havent had the time

The main reason for the pics are so we can advise against making mistakes. The further you are along when you post them the less good they will do you.
