Ya know this is kinda the same topic, I was at my pond store and they are having 75% off stuff. I almost bought a container of Koi clay for $5. One application was to mix their food in it as a supplement. I think it could also just be added to the pond loose. It is super fine like baby power. I put it back on the shelf as I could only imagine my water being cloudy!! My ground is heavy clay and hate it when I'm messing around the pond and it gets in. The fish must like it though.

Almost right there Lisa you can if you wish add it to food but you need a type of binder to make it stick to the food .
Throwing it in I dont recomend , the best thing to do is to give it a good mix in a bucket of pond water then simply walk around the pond pouring it in , you'll find it acts as a flocculent and attracts particles to it to be taken up by the filters , the koi then take minerals released by the clay into their system and everyone is happy personally buying it for $5 US is an absolute bargin I'd get right back there and buy up as much as you can

Thanks Dave I have seen it as very expensive before and thought it was worth a try for $5. Can I use it in the winter months mixed in the water or should I just wait until spring? I'm off to get it now!!!

Well the container has the temperature info on it so it looks like it is best to use in warmer temp then their digestive system is running strong.
