I tried to but I don't have enough posts (10) yet to be able to use the PM feature. I was trying to PM you and was getting failures and Ian on this forum explained that that was the reason.
You should be able to PM me however. Please let me know if you are able to. Thanks
yeah, you know, you could admire addy's pond, or compliment her bees, then comment on how you wish you had a bog in the bog thread. Also, you could add to the 'Boss; where's YOUR cut?' addendum in one of the threads -- that'll help her influence Ian, heh! So see? tag along with addy; she'll see you to success!

(just earning my money, Boss; or, at least that's what it says on page 3005, down near the bottom...)

I have kept High Fin Banded Sharks (Myxocyprinus asiaticus) in my ponds for over 10 years. I live in Durham Region, Ontario. They live in my outdoor ponds year round. I have recently closed our pond and water garden business where we bred koi and pond fish commercially and ran a full service pond and water garden retail centre. I am semi retired now. I have started a consulting business and have a list of folks looking for HFBS. Let me know if you are still looking!!
I am still looking for these fish. Please let me know if you still have some available. I live in Niagara on the Lake, Ontario

My local pond store had them and I bought 4 a few weeks ago. The pond store said they have had some for years in with their koi. Pond store owner said they were much smaller than he got in the past and they were sold as "1-2 inches" to him, but they are all under 1 inch.

I have also seen them at petstores from time to time.

They are rather fearless and do not hide like the small goldfish do. They are super cute. I know they get more solid colored and funny looking with age. But by then I will already be attached. They hold still a lot.

Supposedly they are "slow growing" but I can already tell they have grown in just a few weeks.

They are really cool looking and remind me of Clown Loaches I used to have in an aquarium.

Ah that's too bad as they are good looking in those photo's when smaller.
Is this what they look like when adults?

Kinda cute to me! I hear they are very friendly.

That is only a face a mother could love, reminds me of an alien or something.

I have to agree with @Jhn they aren't exactly a 24 inch colorful koi with long flowing fins when the banded mature. And from what I understand they grow even faster than koi.

Sometimes beauty is more apparent when there is something to compare it to. :) And there is a thing of so ugly it's cute.

I really don't think it is ugly!
Look at the sweet look on that big guys face and how he just loves being in the hands of his ponderer
