Very cool idea pecan and I think the moss is a nice idea but wonder if it will last in the direct sunlight? But like you said if it doesn't the rest of the crawly plants will cover up in no time. I think water iris and some of those grassy typed sedge plants would look cool in there too! I might just have to give it a try. Thanks for posting the pic and the info. Grassy ones like the ones in this tub pond:

Thanks! The pink foam works great to since it cuts easily with a little saw and you can also sand the edges to make them smooth. I may make another in a different shape as the sheets come in 8' x 4' pieces ($15 bucks :) much better than the floating planters I have seen online for $50- $200 ) so I have lots left over,

What a deal, that's pretty cheap alright! In the picture it looks like you have sanded the edges smooth cuz they don't look square.

I really like it too. A good way to keep the plants together also. It also leaves you surface area to put decorations if you wanted to.
