Worm on a hook!
Thanks, guys. Great ideas (well mostly)
Meyer, I always thought lowering the water would be very stressful on the fish, especially at 6 to 8" which, in my pond, means it's mostly rock and a small area of water. Is it less stressful because they are still in water and not being chased?
Thanks again.
Just remember if any one show up with a fishing pole and worms do not let them help and good luck with the fishing .

Years ago, my mom caught about 50 trout, out of my upper pond, with a fishing pole and put them in my lower pond, with a pail.Worm on a hook!
Was gonna say the same thing.Take the water level down to 6" - 8" deep. You will catch them much quicker with actually less stress to the fish.
Sometimes I take my ultra-light out and just put some food on a swivel, no hook .... They hit it hard but break off quickly, it's fun, and good exercise for the fishes.Years ago, my mom caught about 50 trout, out of my upper pond, with a fishing pole and put them in my lower pond, with a pail.
