Since my last post I have run another water test and the results are the same. PH 8.0 ammonia, phosphate and nitrite are all 0.0 ppm. But I have also received a Nitrate test kit and I ran that test this evening along with a test on my water supply which is my well and both test came back with a bright yellow which means 0.0 ppm. I dont know what to do now.
I did place a couple of hyacinths in my bio filter which is a 300 gal "skippy" filter almost 2 weeks ago and those plants have exploded. So I don't know what is going on. The water temp is the same as the pond, around 87 deg in mid afternoon.
I did fill up a little pool with water and some Miracle Grow mixed in. I placed all the plants in the pool and left them there for a couple of days. They look worse now than they did before. I did place them back in the pond along with some more plants that I went and got out of the canal where I got the first ones.
My water lillys are blooming pretty good but they are losing quite a few leaves but I think this is more or less natural shedding. I say this because the ones in my big pond are also losing leaves. Any more suggestions?
Thanks
Bart
