yep, I think it was summer '69, I was12 years old and having to go to the grocery store with mom, I guess that way she didn't have to worry about me staying home and doing something stupid. Anyway, I'd always stay in the car and tune in a rock station. This was probably the first time I became aware of the long version....it seemed to go on forever compared to the pop/bubble gum songs I listened to.
Two other great and long songs from those times are "Alices Resteraunt" and "Stairway to Heaven"

Sorry, poor attempt at humor, I found that on you tube awhile back, I do got to admit I'm kind of a closet (late 60's, early 70's) bubble gummer...I think we all enjoy things we liked as a kid.
