Sorry that I've been a bit absent recently - we've just bought our first house! It's certainly keeping us very busy, but now that we've got our internet up and running I'll be able to check in between cleaning and decorating :)

More good news - we now have a garden and a pond! Both have been neglected by the previous owner, and as it's the first garden we've had I'll be looking for advice both here and on Gardening Forums (which a few of you are members of).

The pond is very tiny (about 3ft by 6ft) and is currently overrun with thick ropes of pond weed. I'll try and post some photos when I get a chance!

Congrats on your new home Becky and would love to see pix of your gardens and pond :)
Those thick ropes of pond weed would be gold to me!

Congrats on being a home owner! We will all be looking forward to seeing pics and updates. Good to hear it has a pond. Now we should see you and Ian on here a little more. And as actual pond owners! Yipee!!!

Congrats on the new house! I bet if we all lived in the neighborhood we'd all come and clean up your pond with you!

Thanks everyone! I knew I could count on you guys! :D

The move all went well and was relatively stress free, but the previous owner hasn't been the most helpful... the oven and hob don't work (he has at least ordered the spare parts needed though), the fridge wasn't working (but Ian has mended it), one of the sinks had the waste water disconnected (which we didn't realise until we ran the water and got wet feet), and he's taken the TV aerial so we don't get a signal!! There are probably other things we haven't found yet too!

Despite all the problems though we are over the moon - it is such a big difference from the city centre apartment we were in before.

It's been pouring with rain for the past two days but hopefully I'll get some pics of the pond and garden when it clears up a bit! :)

congrats on the house but I am thinking the other owner should be ashamed of himself .Gosh when I sold my other house I even put together a book with all the appliance manuals and how everything works and even paid for a year of maintinence on the furnace and air conditioner .I hope he at least comes through with the parts for you .
