Fried green tomato's was something the Amish made .I am from PA and grandma and great grandma made them

A uv now and a pond heater will help you come winter and now is the best time to buy them .Where do you live in nj south or north ,because most plants will survive as long as the pot can be lowered in case of freezing the roots

I am in "southern" NJ, Toms River...pretty much middle of the parkway...lol

Welcome to our group! I have some small "fishless" ponds that now have fish, eggs or fry wandered in after living through a ride through the pump. They survive the winter here, the ponds are around 2.5 feet deep. We have had a few real cold winters where they have frozen almost to the bottom, but the fish still survived. Very few fish and small.

New issue...what is this? There are 3 or 4 I noticed tonight swimming around..

Can't quite tell from pic, maybe a diving beetle or a waterboatman, diving beetle is my best guess.

I asked my biology teacher friend and it is indeed a dragonfly nymph...pretty neat watching them swim around
