not real detailed but I do

Under is each pipe is scrap liner, I have the slots facing down to the bottom, the scrap liner keeps the real liner from possibly being damaged by the constant pounding of the water.
We cut the slots with a chop saw, no exact measurements. The slots to the end of the bog are closer together than the ones near the beginning of the bog i.e. where the pump is. They are cut 1/3 of the way through the pipe, the saw blade made them around 1/4 wide.

We started out rinsing the pea gravel, that lasted for around 3 wheel barrels full, one dry summer and we are on a well, so no more rinsing. My poor honey wheelbarreled a lot of the pea gravel then we used the tractor, it was too much in the heat. It is up pretty high in these pictures, by the time we were done it was down another 6 inches or so

beginning of the grow season

Addy- I have the biggest case of "Pond Envy" right now. Your pond is amazing! I can't wait to have the space (new house soon) to build a big pond.

Thanks addy, this will help me a lot.

I also was wondering if i could skip putting a drain in the bottom of the bog, and, put something in the bottom to act as a false bottom and put less p-gravel in, that way, it would be more easy to clean, would that be possible?

I had pond envy the day i was about to first stick the shovel in the ground, i wanted to stick the shovel back in the shed, and give up.

I have never seen a pond like addys on someones personal property before, truly amazing, her bog dwarfs my pond and bog together.

aww shucks thanks you all. It has been a project of love, of plants, critters and water. Dear sweet honey made it possible by his gift of the tractor our first anniversary.
It sort of expanded since the first ground breaking, he loves craigs list, cause of that two preforms, two stock tanks, now a total of 10 ponds in a loop (including all the small stream ponds) We ended up with a deck pond water falling into the stream.............his idea. Worked out great.

I did the labor, sort of planning, he works. Used to work two full time jobs, could not retire and not have something to do! Got rid of that grass that was hard to mow, now all pretty flowers and plants, water and fish and tons of critters, I just love critters!.

We choose this house to live in (he looked at over 100 while I was still in arizona) because of the land, neither of us could recall what the house looked like. Figured we could fix anything we did not like.
