I would try shutting down your filter for a week, see how things go. And then get rid of your filter!
The speed that plants seem to grow at in a bog is kind of awe inspiring.
This is so awesome. Not gonna lie, sort of jealous of how well your plants are doing. I thought it was the New Mexico heat inhibiting my plants' growth but sounds like you're just as hot. HmmmmI have to say, the bog has been a definite success! It's been regularly over 100F here and the pond gets a LOT of sun. But since adding the bog, the hair algae levels are way down, with just a bit of cleanup every couple weeks. Before the bog, the algae needed to be cleared out every 3-4 days and there was a LOT of it. Part is definitely due to the bog, and also due to the floating plants growing fast. Anyways, here's what it looks like now:
