Hostas are great if they easy to come by (most people have at least one in their yard already that can just be moved). My first pond plant was a hosta, it does wonderfully in the pond. Just put the roots under water, with the green parts above water (add gravel to to the water line so you can do that). You can get marginals at Home Depot, order online, ship to home. Home Depot has a whole bog/pond plant section and it's not all sold out yet (some are out of stock, but there are plenty of options still available to ship to home). Most of it is not sold is stores, but can be ordered online any time: https://www.homedepot.com/b/Outdoor...Garden-Flowers-Water-Pond-Plants/N-5yc1vZc8s1 (which you can narrow down to full sun pretty easily). https://www.homedepot.com/p/4-in-Green-Taro-Potted-Bog-Marginal-Pond-Plant-BP-Green-Taro/205109462, https://www.homedepot.com/p/Givhand...-Aquatic-Pond-Plant-Lemon-Lime-Taro/313932036, https://www.homedepot.com/p/4-in-Thalia-Potted-Bog-Marginal-Pond-Plant-BP-Thalia/205110178, https://www.homedepot.com/p/4-in-Umbrella-Palm-Potted-Bog-Marginal-Pond-Plant-BP-UP1/204774024, https://www.homedepot.com/p/Givhandys-4-in-Potted-Arrowhead-Bog-Marginal-Aquatic-Pond-Plant-Arrowhead/313475884, https://www.homedepot.com/p/4-in-Bl...og-Marginal-Plant-BP-Blue-Flag-Iris/205112577, https://www.homedepot.com/p/Givhand...-Aquatic-Pond-Plant-RedVelvet-Elvis/312896783, https://www.homedepot.com/p/Givhandys-4-in-Potted-Bog-Lily-Bog-Marginal-Aquatic-Pond-Plant-BP-Bog-Lily/300522878, https://www.homedepot.com/p/Givhand...-Aquatic-Pond-Plant-Var-WaterCelery/312651747, https://www.homedepot.com/p/Givhand...-Aquatic-Pond-Plant-BP-Lemon-Bacopa/300673539, https://www.homedepot.com/p/4-in-Bl...ginal-Pond-Plant-BP-Blue-Eyed-Grass/205109811 (these all appear to be in stock for ship to home, at least in my region).
