Blue heron deterrents

Anyone tried one of these types of detterants?
I have my doubts so I thought I'd ask before dropping $

I have this bronze blue heron ... Herons are territorial. This overlooks my pond and I've never had another heron nor predator of any kind in the 4 years it's out there. I believe I paid about $135 or $175 back then on amazon. Looks like the day I got it.

No, but that first one looks interesting. It says it's ultrasonic -- so does that mean that we can't hear it but all the animals in the neighborhood can? Would it work against birds like herons but not chase away the garden birds? And does it have an auto-shut-off function? A remote would be nice so that you don't set it off when you walk out to turn it off.

I have a couple of floating alligators in the pond. So far no heron visits, but I can't say for sure that the decoys are keeping them away or that they simply haven't found the pond yet.
