I picked up some today at the pond store. Can I plant this marginal directly in the water at the ponds edge?

Thanks

When I first bought mine (sisyrinchium angustifolium), I tried it in my bog and it didn't do well, so I ended up planting it in the ground and it did well for years. I looked up it's preferred moisture, and it turned out it didn't even like wet soil.

I never tried growing it in water but it does grow very well in my soil around the pond which does not stay wet.
