luvmyasagis talked about water snakes being very aggressive and I can vouch for that. Several years back when I worked in the ER, (I'm a nurse) a kid was brought in that had been bitten by a snake. The family had taken a heavy stick to it till it no longer moved. They then brought it into the ER with them for identification purposes. (fortunately there are no poisonous snakes in our area) The ER doctor (his name was Larry) took the snake and dumped it in the med room sink assuming it was dead as it had not moved at all since it had been beaten. He proceeded to treat the kid and do the paper work. About 15 min later, he walked into the med room and the snake came rearing up out of the sink at him. He came running out of the med room screaming like a banshee!:) We called him "Jungle Larry" from that day on!;)

Now that's good. Thanks for the good laugh.

I had a small pond in CA about 30 years ago that had a regular visitor. It was a 2 foot garter snake that would curl up and patiently wait for one of my cheap feeder fish to pass by. It wasn't until I noticed the missing fish that I found the snake under the ferns. Needless to say, He didn't come back anymore.
