Our trench has nothing in it, no gravel, just the grass that has grown there. Maintenance is just weed eating the grass.

I built up the area around the pond and from the neighbor I put a fresh drain in a trench 24 inches wide and 12 inches deep filled with a core gated drain pipe. As t ounded with rock. Thin layer of soil over that
