Honey has been used for thousands of years for healing wounds. I use an ointment that I make out of plantain weed, honey, coconut oil (instead of olive oil) and lavender.
Honey (an antimicrobial) has a ultra high osmolatity and will suck the fluid from microbe bacteria, dehydrating and essentially killing them..
Also, Honey is slightly acidic ( around 3-4.5), that in itself can be enough to kill certain types of microbes, BUT, Honey ( now this HAS TO BE RAW HONEY) has this unique ability to break down; when it's acidity is raised ( to around 5.5- 8) add a small amount of sodium and under certain conditions ( such as coming into contact with human skin or wound)The sugar molecules start to break down and produce hydrogen peroxide, which will kill pathogens on contact. :) I may have shorted a couple technical things but you get the jest.
In short ..........HONEY IS COOL MAN!! (y)

Addy are those your bees doing that? Bees are amazing! And the way I see it, if the government and the big farms, that are using fungicidal treated plants, aren't going to stop the disappearing bees , we as plant lovers will have to do it :)

No clue where our laundry room bees are foraging, but they fly out everyday and come home with food for the hive. We are feeding them, as true nectar season is over here. IE the big nectar flow. The bees have a lot of work to do to make the hive healthy, stored pollen, honey etc. They have accepted their new home, the hive boxes. We have the laundry room wall sealed up. So we are helping with bee crack, i.e. sugar water.

Neat they are liking their new home and doing what they are supposed to do. When you get ready to leave for home will you pack them up at night when they are all sleeping?

If they do well, i.e. honey stores, pollen stores, healthy. We will go over at night (they are usually all home by dusk). We will put on the screen inner hive cover, the telescoping outer cover, and a telescoping outer cover on the bottom of the hive, replacing the bottom board. Then take two ratchet straps lock them down, this will keep the bees (hopefully) contained until we get home. They will be in the car with us.
