HA! I know, it is addicting. I find myself sitting in my backyard think of ways i can make my 10'x10' liner work for a bigger pond lol, unfortunately i have a small back yard and the place the pond is in now would look good with a 400-500 gallon pond in the corner. I am doing only goldfish in these ponds and maybe some other types of fish once i learn their climates a little more, your right though, it has become an addicting hobby and most 24 year old males have not caught the green thumb disease yet or are into this, but I LOVE IT!

Jason we have to share our back garden , our neighbour gets the lions share of it but we have the front garden , Jef our neighbour did the build as I say we didn't have that much space, a small slope about five foot of lawbn and a larger slope.
Jeff removed around five tons of topsiol to level everything off which left us the large slope.
He then built a wall creating an area for our QT tank, next he took the topsoil backfilled behind the wall creating around six more feet of garden part of this becomes a disability garden for Val and part is a walk way around the side of the pond.
So by thinking things through you may be able to create the space needed for what you want :ideacyclops:
