The more holes, more slits you make the better. Water will flow easier.

I vote for more holes. When I build my container bogs I put in bigger holes and even on the sides too, and that's only for a tiny pump. That way the water pressure coming out of the holes will not be too much. You can experiment with your pump and see how the water comes out. if it comes out too hard then add more holes until you find the right pressure for you.

and your holes are small, mine were around 1/4 inch plus minus, slash going around the pipe almost cut in half.

I did put fewer holes near the input of the pipe, more towards the ends.

First go at the bog was a failure... I need to add another or bigger out let from the bog to my waterfall box. It's not draining fast enough and overflowing.. 1.5" in and 1.5" out, I should of know better....

lol I always double the out, sometimes even triple the out for potential blockage issues.

We have a few preforms and stock tanks that drain into the next part of the pond loop. For our outs we just drilled a one inch or two inch hole, stuck a piece of one or two inch pvc in the hole, gooped it up with pl roofing goop, let it dry, done. It has been that way for 4 years now.

Updated - Went with Addy's idea of pl roofing and 3" pvc straight through to my water fall box. Ended up having the pipe lower then I wanted but I wasn't digging this thing back out and re-leveling it. I need more top soil around the back side, mulch and rocks. Stay tuned.

sort of my favorite grab to fix if needed goop. Seems to work well for me.

That and plumbers goop, more expensive.

Could do a 90 and send one line up each shallow spot, that will keep the water moving.

Add some 90's 45's whatever will bring the pipe up onto the shelves. Doesn't have to be perfect or the entire length, it will add flow to the area.
