Aphids on lily pads

Well I am no longer having a problem with the aphids. Had them for several weeks but now they are gone.
Didn't try the cooking spray. I just got in the pond and groomed the lilies. Wiped them off the leaves and smooshed them between my fingers. Took awhile but I put a dent in those little buggers.

Ours also went away, after we had a few days of rain, they got washed into the water... fish must have ate some, others filtered out or left...

I was wondering what was eating the leaves on the lilly in my existing pond as when I checked one of the filter boxes earlier, the exposed sides of the box was full of tiny aphids.
