@dieselplower - I think I may have read that thread. I know I heard about the Farmer's prediction from somewhere.

My fish aren't exactly hibernating at the moment, but I always try to keep an eye on them when I'm breaking up the ice to see if my activity is having any affect on them. Sometimes I see them get curious and come investigate, then I have to move around so I don't accidentally hit one of them. Typically I just start from an opening and break off small chunks at a time, so it shouldn't be sending much (if any) of a shock through the water.

My ponds were a bit more frozen over this December, compared to last year. We did break records for record cold in the first week of December with near minus 40 below temp and I had to bring out the really big 1500 watt heater and still I had lots of ice. Temps now around normal for this time of year an thanks to 1250 watt heater plus constant flowing water, all is fine and fish look really good!

Ice all gone here and sun is warming my fish up. They are all happily swimming all over the pond surface. Nice to see them all looking well and ready for Spring which should be here any day now................one can dream, can't one :blueflower:

Thanks Sissy! I crimped my hair with this old crimper hair iron I have had for the last twenty years. That crimper is the only thing that holds my hair, big ring curls fall out within hours no matter how much hair spray I use. With this crimper I don't have to use any sticky hair spay and it is very quick and easy, and I like that, plus it gives your hair lots of volume if you have baby fine hair. Hubby took me out to the movie last night so I tried to make my hair all nice!

I have one of those but have not used it for years now .I think the last time was back in NJ .No use in doing my hair here because it is always so windy you have to keep your hair tied back or it is in your eyes or mouth .

Too early for Mr Groundhog, think he arrives in February. What is it if he sees his shadow we get 6 more weeks of winter or is it the opposite? We only have moles here anyways and they better watch out for my shadow :biggrinangelA:

Before you know it, it will be Feb and time to look out for that fat Groundhog! Time flies by quick these days, it was just the other day that I was sitting outside by the pond with all the flowers! Christmas came so quick it was like a blink of an eye for me!

Sissy my crimper sat unused too for the past three or four years I think, now I just rediscovered it again!
