Any tricks for getting the water to release off wqterfall rocks?

I will take some close up shots, most are from a distance, we have tested with a garden hose, we don't have our pump set up yet. The waterfall stream will always be slow flow. Most likely on a timer also to run just when we want it to, if we use a separate pump for it.

The ponds in the stream, most are 8x9ft / 1.5 - 2 ft deep, are all deep enough to maintain nice water with occasional water flow from the stream.

Your concrete bowl idea sounds good.
