Well now a colander has many uses and yes a muck vac sure gets the gunk off the bottom and works better than a net .I get my quilt batting at walmart .I take it out hose it off and soak it in the peroxide and set it in the sun and put a clean piece in until the other piece dries and then repeat the process takes time .I keep some in my bio filter most of the time
