If the bridge had railings, you could use them to make a net slope out to the sides.

I'm guessing the tree only drops fruit once a year? In that case, you could set up a net just during fruit drop season, and take it off at other times.

Maybe you could even add railings that detach, so they only have to be there when the figs are falling.

First, get that "water fall thing that's broken" fixed, stat.

That's going to help aerate the water and keep those goldfish happy.
