Most of the time the actual work isn't bad. It's dealing with all the other stuff that usually the pain. Customers, workers, getting together all the materials, the supply houses, architects, etc...

These are just some of the reasons why I am no longer a G.C . What I had no clue to when I started my own construction company at16. Was that not only were you a jack of all trades which I loved you were also a book keeper,, Accountant, Purchaser, Salesman, community relations and advertiser But you were also a Bank , human resources and baby sitter " could you keep an eye on my kids while I run to the store?" Kmart blue light special " could you fix this and fix that" " what I shouldn't have to pay for that" AND the best of the best NO MATTER HOW GOOD AND SMOOTH A JOB GOES FOR SOME PEOPLE YOUSTILL INCONVENANCED THEIR LIVES. AND THEY WILL TRY TO BEAT YOU FOR EVEY NICKLE. I stopped doing G.C work and focused on historical restorations all word of mouth and down sized the crews. life was good . but today I watch others work and inforce contracts and acceptance. No work with the general public for me at least i'm not in there homes any more.

From the customer side, it is frustrating. We're in the midst of a total house renovation and have had a devil of a time getting people to show up. But I can definitely imagine customers being difficult - anyone who's ever worked in any kind of customer service job can relate to that. We have found some great trades people - our electrician even texted us to ask if it he could let the dogs out for us. Great guy.

And to bring this back to ponds - every single person who's showed up at our house to bid jobs spent an extra hour here just admiring and asking question about the pond. They all left here wanting one of their own. The plumber was working in the upstairs bathroom and yelled out the window "you even have a great view from the toilet up here!" They all said the best part of working on our house was the 30 minutes they spent eating lunch on our patio, enjoying the peace. The guy who's doing our AC asked if he could bring his good friend who has a koi pond to see how to make his look more natural and the plumber is bringing his wife over to convince her to let him put one in his backyard. Everyone loves ponds!

That came out beautiful! And the music is synchronized with the action of the water! Is that a coincidence or is it somehow programmed that way?
Very nice!

Hi Poconojoe,

The music is synchronized with the pump and light action. The underlying technology is used for commercial music fountain and those synchronized Christmas light shows.

Every pump sequence and light action is individually programmed to match the music so it is not an automatic process.
