What kinda vac are u using to clean out your bottom is it something that just sucks up the muck? Doesn't it also suck up water?

I have the OASE Pondovac 3 pond vacuum, the have a 4 now which is better but I picked this up on craigslist for cheap money. It works amazing well. It sucks up water also. I just put my hose on and let it fill the pond and vac at the same time so the water level does not go below the skimmer.
