I've got pop a couple of end caps out, but it should make a good clean out chamber, it has a flat bottom so I just drop a sump pump down for clean outs.

I just need to get the underlay and liner in to the bog and chamber and pipe in without collapsing the sides on the channel. I have a some timber and a barrel in there at the moment acting as formwork.

I like you have a deep cleanout in the snorkel.

Sad day for myself I lost my biggest fish to a bald eagle today . He could have at least flown away with it but nooo he sat in pitcher plant bog and gutted him. Game on!! I've been meaning to get more cables up over head can't believe an eagle flew out.

Well if something going to take your prized fish I guess a Bald eagle is as good as anything. We suffer from Herons taking our fish.

In was going to thread some fishing line over the top to try to stop them getting down

mind you I saw an article the other day saying how Vineyards are using intelligent lasers to shot/scare birds away!

I have a golf net blocking the back yard from the pond it's a vertical wall of netting a good 12 to 16 feet high. And a cable across the middle and above the hedge. More coming this weekend.

It's a little slower going now. I have the liner and underlay bog, with another layer of underlay on the liner. It's a little messy at the moment with tape holding up the underlay while I get the soakaways crates in.

Giving away trade secrets here use a blow torch heat up very quickly the underlayment it melts fast then stick it to the overlap of the other unlayment.

Also on your soak away trays I'm unfamiliar but the aquablocks I cut them to fit what ever shape I needed then zip tied them where I had cut off the studs. Once sandwiched in they re not going anywhere.

I don't fancy using a blow touch for the underlay over the liner, just incase I burn the liner.

Thes that's what I was going to, cut the crates and tie them together.👍

Good day today, all the soakaways are in tied together with the initial rock around the crates.

Now all the hard work starts of carrying all the rock around to fill the bog

HEY @GaryMoz
I have a question these soak away trays do they have center supports? all the matrix blocks be it aquascapes or easy pro etc they are all 36" long with two supports in the middle dividing the block into three sections in order to hold up the weight of the stone. are these just supported along the edges?

Looking forward to our first raised pond build up and running in the 6 years i have ben here anyways . or is it number two the guy in Hawaii had a raised he built haven't heard from him since he added water

The soakaway crates are 1000 x 500 x 400mm in size, they are designed to be load baring 60+
tonnes, they have vertical supports throughout them, this type of thing Soakaway crates

Funny, I don't see it as a raised pond, they amount of soil we had to move, the majority is below ground ;)

Glad they have some reinforcement didn't want to see a issue after loading with stone i know how much work that is particularly after rebuilding my bog.

i guess the way a raised pond is viewed is four walls and a floor built with other than liner. and dirt as the walls. These come up above the surroundings area regardless how high but if i had to give a number it would be above two feet.
