Yes thank you but I need to do a lot to continue.
I have bricks and glass under the edge everywhere. I here for good advice and idea but I can't see some pictured in threads.

I TOO found glass tin cans and nails in the excavation of my pond i used sand ROOFING FIBERGLASS MEMBRANE 1/8 INCH thick and Azek 3/4" thick to protect the liner. you can see more in my blog below in the link

I do hope your removing the island if you desire something similar i'd build it within the liiner

Yes I dug some but not that much the ground is si compact and heavy
