Before I fill my pond, I want to know if wrinkles or tucks are a bad thing in a pond. I have MANY and as much as I've tried to get them out, there is no way around it. When I try to adjust one area, it just creates more tucks in the adjacent area. I'd like to fill tomorrow, but I'm afraid to do it unless I know it will be ok. Some are pretty bunchy, leaving me with many layers of liner in one area. Anybody?

Thanks.

Try to get the bottom as wrinkle free as possible. Position the tucks and folds so that they do not form pockets that will collect sediment. Given the choice have the open part of the pocket on the down side.

I guess I am saying the fewer you have collecting sediment the better it will be.

Try making the folds in the corners as deep as possible, in other words try not to multi layer the liner but make one fold that goes as far under the rest of the liner as possible. Wrinkles are almost impossible to completely remove, but reducing the number of them and the smaller the fold and wrinkle at the bottom of the pond the better. As stated the biggest thing you want to try and avoid is pocket where sediment and gunk can collect near the bottom. Quite often smaller fish will find a larger wrinkle and use it as a hiding place to escape predators, So they do have their good uses as well.
