Hi everyone, new to this site. Need some advice. Well basically I have an established pond at my current home it's about 800 gal. with about 10 fish ranging from 1 fingerling which is the newest fish he/she appeared when I was cleaning some leaves out of the Bio filter, must have gotten sucked up as a fry and survived prob. a 3" shubumpbkin. 1 lg koi prob. about 14"-4 lbs and the rest 4-6" fish. My problem is that I'm in NY 10941 nearing the beginning of winter. We are currently in contract w/ a new home, same area. We should be in the new place in the middle of January. What should I do w/ my fish? Buy a stock tank and take them in? I'm kinda lost. Thanks in advance......

don't leave the fishes! :)
Maybe check craigslist and see if you can get a tank to put them in until you build your pond for the winter?

I don't want to leave them. Does taking them indoors effect their life cycle in anyway? I could probably get away w/ keeping them in a tank in a detached garage. My only concern would be the freeze line depth changes above ground i would probably need a heater right?

bring 'em with you for sure! Or can you ask the folks who are buying your house if you can come get 'em in early spring? Maybe put that in your closing papers. I've seen people do that before!

Otherwise a holding container in the garage would be fine. Koiguy just told us about tractorsupply.com that has great stocktanks and not terrible prices.
