Hi gang, I have had my pond for 6 years. Last year I changed my pond to add a skimmer and increase the size a bit. Over the years I have only had one year where I had baby fish. I had two which didn't survive the winter. Besides those I have only lost two other fish over the years. A few weeks ago I had 15 fish with a mix of shubunkins, comets, and commons. Then I noticed a few little babies. Now I am up to around 12 babies. My water hyacinths did very well this year so I am assuming they did a good job of hiding the eggs in the roots. Of course now my problem is that I will have too many fish. I am really struggling on what to do. I have asked around to see if anyone wants some fish but haven't had any takers. I don't want to kill the fish but I am worried that I will end up harming everyone if I keep them. My pond is around 900-1000 gallons. It is around 9x8. I am debating to wait it out the winter to see how many survive. Just looking for suggestions from you all on what to do.

yeh with that many fish you may be risking the rest of them and they get bigger and then you have more babies it can become a nightmare .I usually get rid of mine fast .But somehow more show up after I think I got rid of them all .

I was told by an aquarium/pond store down the street they would take them and my son in law works for Petco and he told me they will take them. You might just want to give a local place that sells fish a call.

BTW, I have a bunch of comets I need to scoop up and take down there. I have just been putting it off.
